I stopped buying Brodart spine tape because I'm finding that books are sticking to each other! The edges of the tape are sticky even you don't trim them yourself. This is not going to work on library shelves! The other major brand does not do this -- unfortunately they have stopped carrying the tape with release backing. Since we have students do repair, we do try to make it easy for them, and cutting lengths with a release backing is not very popular! I would love to hear that Brodart is addressing this problem. To be honest, I don't understand why one brand has this problem while the other doesn't. They are both REALLY sticky, you'd think they would be similar.
