When I started my new job as the Director of a small public library, they were using book covers which were sealed on both edges. As anyone who has ever covered books knows, they are never the "standard" size. I introduced my staff to book jackets with only one sealed edge and they find them much easier and neater to use.
I use the 2 mil Just A Fold II low luster 100-pack. You get a variety of sizes. I don't have many 12 inch books but the truth is that the large sizes can be trimmed down without much trouble. These are very easy to trim up and apply. If you keep books for life, these are a great investment. You will especially appreciate them if you have to move because they make it easy to pack books and transport them without damage.
